Seeking a Self-Motivated Individual for Air & Ocean Cargo Import Operations 
  • Ability to use transportation computer-based software and Microsoft Office related programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Problem identification skills must be balanced by problem resolution capabilities
  • Working knowledge of CBP requirements as outlined in 19 CFR a plus
  • Working knowledge of international import transportation and operations a plus
Job Description / Responsibilities:
  • A fundamental understanding of the processes and documentation requirements involved in int’l shipping
  • Customs clearance of air and ocean import shipments including coordination of inland transportation
  • Efficiently process import documentation including commercial invoices, waybills / ocean bills of lading, and related shipment documents to include client invoicing, AP invoices and miscellaneous responsibilities
  • Efficiently identify the most cost-effective solution based on each clients’ shipment specific needs
  • Accurately input data and efficiently process import shipments in accordance with U.S. law and regulation
  • Handling knowledge of special products (Temperature Controlled, Hazardous, etc.) is a plus
  • Communicate effectively, directly and indirectly, with clients, vendors, co-workers, government agencies, and industry partners via phone and email to complete challenging tasks in a time sensitive manner
  • Maintain profitability of accounts and identify opportunities for increasing revenue and profit margins by negotiating pricing with vendors and quoting clients
  • Nurture present client relationships while developing new clientele
  • Proactively communicate trade and regulatory information to customers
  • Assistance in other departments could be required as needed

Desired Experience:
  • Import Customs clearance experience preferred but not required
  • High School Diploma / Equivalent
  • Experience with Descartes (IES) system is preferred but not required
  • Bilingual is a plus.
